Eyes lie, wheels don’t, especially on a motorcycle. Car drivers making lane crossing turns will stare right through you and pull out; if you watch their wheels you will pick up wheel rotation from a stop in milliseconds.
My only concern as it looks is that like you, I will burn out the shoulder material before I put a dent in the center bar. Can’t complain about the grip, but I’m definitely not going to get as many miles as I was hoping out of them!
Mine has the slightest bubble in the top left, has t grown yet so I haven’t done anything about it. @Max Kool by known issue do you mean they are replacing them under warranty?
I use my GoPro on my helmet as a dash cam, but I don’t always wear it and battery life isn’t great. I haven’t looked into dashcams specifically, I’d be interested to hear any background you have (e.g. how long do they last, any drawbacks, etc.). They are worth their weight in gold if you need...
Nor have I, and I have a 6/2019 build right in the range where many complained of it. Although it could be riding style, on this bike I live above 4,500 even on the downshifts.
That makes sense, in both directions. As I said in the thread on ADV, it’s probably because I’ve mostly ridden dirt bikes and ADV’s that this bike feels small to me. But the overall point is that people who might absolutely LOVE the FTR are being told not to even consider it because someone...
So they’ve fallen foul of some of the worst motorcycle buying guidance that’s been hanging around for decades with no basis in reality. There is absolutely zero need to flat foot, or even use both feet down on a motorcycle. The correct position at a stop is with your right foot on the peg and...
This rumor has got to be dispelled. I am 5’8” on a good day (probably 5’7.5” in reality) and I have never, for even a millisecond had even the remotest concern about the FTR’s height. Please don’t continue to tell people that the FTR is not for them when you don’t have their experience.
On the plus side we now get to see your take on the flat track scout! I really like that people do so many different things with their FTR’s, it gives the community so much more character than those around a bike where everyone pretty much keeps it stock or all have the exact same farkles.
I get it, but it’s fairly standard. The lawyers got involved, and with EU as a target market Euro5 didn’t help. With any vehicle purchase (motorcycle, car, truck, dirt bike, snowmobile, etc.) that I buy; I already have dozens of after market parts and plans for how to make the vehicle mine...
