Click noise when I try to turn on but then it was fine?

Sits for weeks/months, I'd pull the fuse. Have done that with my ST1100 that now sits. For winter proposes, I'd remove the ground cable off the battery. Keep an eye not to let it drop to 12.7v. Because 12.6v is the cutoff to recharge back to 12.8v.

Thank you for the advice. I'm hoping the NOCO will solve a lot of my problems. If not, then I'll use your advice. Beats charging the battery at home behind the sofa :)

Hello all, new owner of a 22 FTR R Carbon here;

Purchased mine used with 1k miles. Been having some issues (still under warranty) that I'll be taking in to dealer to have looked at.

For one it seems to be overheating when stopped, got engine to over 260F and check engine light went on.

However something that occurred this morning when I went to take it out. I tried starting it and I could only hear the solenoid click but the engine starter would not turn. I tried this 10 times and nothing. The electronics all worked fine.

Feeling a bit defeated, I rolled it back into my garage and turned off key, but then went to try again just one more time and the engine turned first try and bike started with no issues as if it had never happened. I tried again several times after just to make sure and it's turning fine. Was very weird that for that moment it would absolutely not turn but now it's back to being fine?

Anyone seen this issue before? I thought it might be the battery, but it looks fine to me.
I had something like this happening when i first bought my bike, the click and nothing else. I'm still not entirely sure what fixed it or made it stop, but I'm sure between the Lloyds tune and reseating the damn fuses under the battery I haven't had the issue since way back then. Not sure on the newer bikes but the 2019 was infamous for those damn fuses wiggling out. I actually tightened them up a bit and used some dielectric. Also after replacing the stock battery 3 times in less than 3 years, I finally switched to a NOCO. Haven't had a battery issue in over a year now. Mine would act the same. the screen would turn on everything would look fine, headlight and everything, just nothing but a click. Was driving me batty and like I said probably a combination of multiple things, but don't know for sure. Sorry I can't be more help. I will say I am less than impressed with the awful OEM battery or the lack of support when they die within a year, but I learned after the 3rd one.

More realistic than US$130 for a a Noco NLP14?

(I don't know Optima, I believe they're good as well if you say so)
Optima USED to be amazing. Made in Denver, CO at the Gates facility. BUT like all good things, the name got bought by a mega corp (Johnson Controls) and they immediately started having tons of issues. I was an Optima retailer during this time and we actually dropped then, they were too problematic. I have heard they are better than back then, but they already ruined my opinion and it's easier to go with something else.

I always boast my bike is problem free, but I did have the above problem once, at a gas station. A few months after installing a Lithium battery. **Click** nothing.

This appeared to be the lack of any grease on the battery terminals. I cleaned them, and gave them a light smear and and it never came back. This was most likely a spotweld between the terminal and the connector from the current needed for the starter motor.
