Narrowly Avoided Disaster!

Hooked up the trailer last night. Loaded the FTR in a light snow this morning for a trip to Pitt Cycles to take care of the coolant tube recall. It took about 4 hours to complete. They do put new coolant in the system as part of the repair. After they finished I rolled the FTR into the right side cleat on the trailer, secured the tie downs and headed for home. Then “Disaster” happened. I hit a pot hole and the outside tie down snapped. The FTR tipped over into the trailer. Fortunately the cleat had a hold of the front wheel and it fell over slowly. Thankfully it fell “in” and not “out” of the trailer. I pulled over and got help standing the bike back up. Unbelievably there was not even a scratch on the bike. Zero Damage.

The motorcycle gods were definitely smiling on me today! Gave her a good clean when I got home.

PowerTye - tie downs arrived. Seem to be very high quality and much stronger than the one that snapped. (Made in California Max!) They have sheep skin loops to go around the bars so you don’t scratch.
