New FTR 1200 Owner

Hello everyone! My name is Chris and I just purchased a still in the crate 2019 FTR 1200 base model (black on black on black).

This is my 10th bike, but my first Indian, so I'm excited to get it out on the road. Already ordered a Racefit exhaust for it as well as a tidy tail kit. This will be a commuter bike for me (120 miles round trip for work each day) to keep some miles off of my diesel F250. I've heard a lot of people mention the jerkiness coming off throttle and am curious to hear some thoughts on remapping, best hardware for these bikes for remapping and best tuners or decent canned tunes. Like I said, it's going to be primarily a commuter, so I'm less worried about all out performance and much more worried about an enjoyable ride with decent manners. I have other toys for all out hooligan/track behavior.

Anyway, it's nice to be here and am excited to start turning miles. Any input would be appreciated. Once I get the bike here (it's currently being shipped) and throw the mods on I'll post up some pictures.

With the Racefit you WILL have to remap, i ran that pipe for a few months in 2019.

i prefer ryan and lloydz for the maps, he has a good one for the racefit already

You ended up switching to a different pipe?

I went to the TOCE full exhaust, i didnt like the mid range tq dip you get with the oem header and no cat, and the racefit is hatefully loud. Although it is one of the best looking exhausts out there

Thank you for the input! I talked to the guys at Lloydz but it sounds like Ryan is out of the office until middle of next week. May end up having to ride it without the map for a week or two, but such is life.

Yeah they are all at Daytona flashing bikes. You could just pull off your muffler and leave the cat. Will sound good and run good. But the racefit with no tune shoots nasty fireballs

Hah! Well luckily it's just farm animals on back country roads I would be upsetting, so we'll see how it goes. Again, it would only be a matter of days without a tune, so I'm not too worried. That's even assuming it will be warm enough to enjoy riding by then lol.

And support from my experience. See other tuning thread as I've gone from Ryan's map to FuelMoto. I'll be flashing the FuelMoto map this weekend.

Gene, make sure to create a thread with the experiences, as the other tuning thread is about the ECU flash, which you didnt have.

The FTR fuel system is a finnicky thing

Which I am doing, but startup is not getting better and I don't see how it could in open loop. It is obvious there are Team Ryan people here and Team FuelMoto people as well. I'm going to give my opinion on both.

You mention logs, as least you have that option with FuelMoto, to me that's better support.

I second the support comment for Fuel Moto. I ended up purchasing the S&S Slip-On and PV3 package. They answered all my questions, made me feel reassured there aren’t software compatibility issues between Indian software and the PV3 as I’ve read on other sites....Lucas really knows his stuff!

Placed order at 2:08pm and it shipped the same day !
