Well here's Rev A of my new gas cap. It needs a few tweaks but is usable, I rode home from work (50 miles) and it's fine. It could use a thinner gasket and a better surface finish with a black coat but it works and it will not crack like the plastic internals on the OEM cap. Would be even easier...
I have a pretty similar situation where I got a 2019 that had a couple hundred miles on it and i do a little over 100 miles a day and just passed 10k miles. This problem started pretty much right away and was my biggest complaint about the bike. The gas cap seemed like an after thought and it's...
I'm thinking of just machining the inner parts out of aluminum so I don't have to worry about it anymore, right now I fixed the crack with jb weld and it is smoother than ever.
One of my biggest problems with my bike has alwasy been the terrible gas cap. It's always a struggle to get the cap off smoothly and is the only bike I've ever had this problem on. the insides of the gas cap are plastic and under spring tension, this is the second time i hae had to repair this...
To anyone who uses a GoPro on their FTR where do you put it? I usually use the chest rig but its not my favorite. I'd love to have it on my helmet to see more of whats going on but that looks kinda goofy imo. So where's the best spot to put one to catch a group ride video?
I'm only 5'6" with a 30" inseam but I also have lower back issues, with the rally bars I sit more upright and dont have any back issues when im riding, you may be more hunched over than I am though. I also travel 100 miles round trip for my work commute and haven't had any issues with not using...
got a picture from the side? how far out from the forks are the lights? I think a dual lightbar setup would look a little cleaner and tucked more in between the forks, the triple bar looks like a bit of overkill.
After googling bitumen and converting to mph sounds like you mean a twisty paved road with average speed limits. Not quite what I imagined as riding in the hills lol
Riding in the hills typically refers to being off highway, I assume you are talking about being on the road though so you lost me a bit there. I didn’t have an issue with the fat tire but the goofy forward controls gotta go
Have you ridden one? Because this idea it can only go in a straight line because the front tire is a little fat is pretty far off. I don’t think people are taking their 48’s or iron 883s through the hills as they had a pretty similar ground clearance.
