FINALLY! Spring has never been this late, but today at last I got a Labour Day ride in summer temperatures and full on sun, ahhhhh. Kept it super-smooth due to the new tires, but they seem promising. Same goes for the Suzuki shift lever conversion and the new grips. Not so sure about the brake...
Bloody nowhere! I's still blow zero (centigrades) and random thick ice mixed with loads of gravel on the roads. Riding still months away, abstinence is growing...
What a congregation, cool! I've seen two more live here in Sweden so far, but not close enough to "mate up".
By the way, freezing here today, might not ride anywhere at all for 4-5 months...
I've got a cheap pair sitting inside of the controls. I've never ridden any bike with ordinary mirrors where I've seen anything than my upper arms... This is the best solution I've ever had, I get a clear view under my arms, and they just about clear the "tank". The only drawback is You've got...
How can riding a Husky be a sin? I've got one of its smaller brothers, great fun for its size, but waiting for my daughter to get her license so I can upgrade to a 701.
The usual loop southbound, with some new (on motorbike) stretches. Whoaa, promising:
And here's what it looked like:
Road sometimes a bit too narrow, sometimes a bit poor sight of what's to come, and nothing close to the never-ending curves (or vistas) in more mountaineous areas of our...
A perfect midsummer's ride through Södertörn to Skanssundet, in perfect summer weather (for being Sweden) and almost empty roads, with a poor excuse for an icecream as icing on the cake.
Cool!
Thanks for the encouragement! I was aiming at using a vice and an adjustable spanner (Swedish invention I believe), if I can get a good grip at the lever at the "knob side". Otherwise I'll dig out some other type of wrench/pliars, my father in law was sheet metal worker, and I've nicked...
Hope You didn't take it as an insult, it wasn't! Just jealous of Your matter-of-factness and practicallity, I might over-think stuff sometimes. And sometimes not...
@Breto, You're so un-sentimental! I've had aluminium stuff snap on me before, so I'm a bit hesitant (when not having a replacement lever easily at hand). Maybe i give it a go this weekend. Suppose it'll help to heat it up a bit.
On a stressfull day, I managed to drop the bike to the right when shuffling it around in my too small garage. Touched my workbench with the front wheel sothe balance shifed evr so slightly, but my 75 kg couldn't stop the fall so it went down slooowly... What a dumb-a** I am!
Luckily, the only...
I've got one more, a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401, slightly modified to connect to the style of classic Husky cross bikes.
Took the first ride of the season Saturday, still some ice and gravel to negotiate, but very nice to be on the roll again!
Thank You all for the feed-back!
I've got the battery tender (didn't know the word in English...) sorted, and I can do "fill her up" (not really full at this point though). Never heard of fuel stabilizer, but it seems it's not consensus on its use so I'll let be without. Also, I've got a cover...
Hi folks,
It's been a while since I had a "proper" bike (only year round enduro machines the last 20 years), having to store it for winter, so I just wanted to check what procedures You would recommend before putting Your steed into a four-five month hibernation? I've got a good battery...
