It might be summer here but it's been a weird summer. I haven't had a whole day to go riding for about 6 months due to work, band, family commitments or weather being shit (mainly rain and cold.. in summer...)
Today however I had a clear calendar and although I knew it was going to get hot (40C here in Adelaide) I thought fuckit and geared up early to head out for a nice big ride.
Went down to the south coast via the Adelaide Hills, then home again along the west coastline.
Great day to be out, the Tour Down Under bicycle event was on but heading the opposite way to the direction I was going so I avoided most traffic hold ups and had some of my favourite roads clear for just me.
54 F here so I talked the Orange Blossom Special into trying to keep up with me today. The more I ride it the more I like it. Not a fan of abs though. Anyone else like to get rid of theirs?
You got me there and I would be laughing too if it were not at the expense of my wife. I suppose that is the price for hanging out with keyboard warriors.
Bloody nowhere! I's still blow zero (centigrades) and random thick ice mixed with loads of gravel on the roads. Riding still months away, abstinence is growing...
The weather has been mild in Pittsburgh, PA for the past two weeks. FTR is still tucked away but I have been putting a lot of miles (1,000) on my Challenger and yesterday rode “Plain Jane” the big bore Scout!
FINALLY! Spring has never been this late, but today at last I got a Labour Day ride in summer temperatures and full on sun, ahhhhh. Kept it super-smooth due to the new tires, but they seem promising. Same goes for the Suzuki shift lever conversion and the new grips. Not so sure about the brake lever though, was a bit hard to dial in the ergonomics.
All of Stockholm's bikers where out , and quite a few slugs too...
Had one of these on loan at the time - pretended to be Schwantz, although I daren't take my hand off the clutch lever for fear that the damn thing would heat seize. Always thought they were much closer to a road GP bike than the RD500...
Loved my old Beckett tuned LC, the powerband was mental.
