thats a collection ;)

..where it starts last year
This is what was briefly sharing stable space with the FTR. The Rocket 3 found its way to my place because I got sick of waiting for the FTR to be released for sale. I liked it and it wasn't until the standard FTR demo bike came up at a good price that I looked at the FTR again. I'm glad I did, they're both great bikes but chalk and cheese.

my other bike is a BMW R1200 GS

The BMW is (too) perfect... and there are too many of them. Perhaps this is why I felt the attraction of the FTR. The FTR is NOT perfect and there are very few of them in Germany

Well...
I have just bought another one of these.
This one I had from '75 - '80 I paid 20 times a much for it, or 8 times as much as IX75 Hawkesbury 1979.jpg sold the first one, you find them between the hen's teeth and the rocking horse dunny.

fuknKIWI - Is that a 1973 Triumph X75 Hurricane? I believe they were bases on the BSA Rocket 3 motor (12 degree forward slanting cylinders is the hint) and the body work was designed by Craig Vetter! By the time the bikes were available for sale BSA was out of business and they were sold as Triumph’s.

I jumped on the Triple band wagon in 1976. My Yamaha XS750-2D is registered as a new 1977 model that was purchased in fall of 1976. I bought it new when I turned 18 yrs old! CE078D90-2FA5-443B-AE1E-E4110B5D8039.jpegB1388161-1D21-4C1E-9CEE-9906E069AAB8.jpeg

Yes Mark, it is the Vetter X75 Hurricane. I notice your triple is 750, I thought they were 850's.
