Throttle grip removal

inverse torx doesn't do it. I am going to have to drill it out. I bought a used throttle to test on before I drill on the nice one

All you all have FTR’s also. go take a peek and the screws holding the throttle housing together
yep, my understanding is that is an adjustment screw but I have no idea what type of tool is required to take it out.
That's what my dealer told me anyway.

as mentioned previously, you don't need to remove to take the whole throttle assembly off. in regards to the grips you're trying I know there was a photo on the Wunderkind website of them on an FTR but as they don't actually list them as fitting the FTR I would guess that picture was a prototype.

I hope you're able to work it out.

Hit that T-8 under that odd igmo screw (I think it's a rivit). Oh I think that a T-10 and the other little piss ant screws are T-8's that hold the covers on.

The throttle does not come apart. It has one time use screws keeping it together. you can remove the whole assembly with a star bit and replace the rubber. I replaced my with and aluminum grip. see the photos but had to take it to a machine shop to have the grip honed out.

I'm resurrecting an old post here, but can someone please tell me how this turned out? I have purchased so many unnecessary tools for this damn bike then any other bike in my 30+ years of riding. I'm about to sell this damn thing.

so recap the original post I am attempting to swap out the grips with a set of rizoma's. The rizoma's have what is called a balast that replaces the FTR's which is inside the housing next to the grip. The housing has one T screw (to loosen it from the bar) and two (2) what look like inverted torx screws. To me this is the only way to open it up. and i think member Massimo stated the inverted torx may be needed. I'm simply trying to establish if this worked.
